MISS ZIPPIN FRECKLES

Breed: American Quarter Horse Association
Location:Colorado
Height: 15′ 2″ Weight: 1100 lbs.

Freckles is one of our premier broodmares and is the dam of our stallion, SMART LITTLE JR FRECKLES. She is a grandaughter of the great Colonel Freckles. She has produced cutters, ropers, reiners, and reined cowhorses as well as an eventer and a barrel racer. She produces performers with beautiful coat patterns and amazing agility in the performance pen, no matter what the event! Freckles is no longer producing and has earned the right to just hang out at the ranch with us. Unfortunately, this July 2015, we lost her at age 23 and she is buried here on the ranch. We are showing her son, Doc’s Painted Colonel, and her daughters, Miss Zippin Colors and Miss Zippin Freckles and her genes and legacy lives on for us.

She has had 13 foals and they have been money earners in roping, cutting, reining, and barrel racing, She has had 8 paints when bred to a paint. She had one red roan, Endeavor Doc Bar, when bred to a quarter horse. Her foal distribution is 2 geldings, 4 studs, and 7 fillies. She has foaled 6 horses with the unique Bay Roan tobiano coat pattern. These horses are truly special and flashy in the pen. She is a high $$ producing broodmare. Our treasure! Unfortunately in June, Freckles became too old to get around easily and we had to make the tough decision to put her down. Her legacy lives on in all of her wonderful foals. We were blessed with great broodmares in Freckles and Sweetheart.
