2018 Bay Roan Tobiano Stud Colt
Color Me On Ice out of Smart Zippin Freckles by Gunner On Ice.
The newest Spring addition to Paynter’s Paint Ranch is “Color” or his APHA registered name, Color Me On Ice. Smart Zippin Freckles, my sweet mare, is his dam. Zipper has been a favorite here at the ranch and loves reining and working cow horse. She has earned money in NRHA and NRCHA in Open and Non-Pro and won the Colorado State Fair 3 Year Old Reining Challenge and a saddle! She is a wonderful mom and takes great care of her first time foal. Color was foaled Monday, April 9th at about ten o’clock in the morning! The daylight hour surprised us, as we had been up through the previous nights waiting.
His color has changed from Bay Tobiano to Bay Roan Tobiano as he shed out his foal coat. He now looks much like his dam, Zipper.
Color’s sire is Gunner On Ice. A beautiful red roan AQHA and APHA double registered horse. He is fabulous and so talented. He has NRHA $$ earnings. Gunner on Ice is a cross between Nu Chex to Cash and One Gun. His pedigree goes back to Boonlight Dancer, who won the NRCHA Futurity and he also has the cowiness of the Colonel Freckles line.
Color looks remarkably like his grandsire, Color Me Smart. Amazing genetics are passed down to the next generations. We love Color’s markings across his shoulders and always like a Tobiano face. He is precious and has the Color Me Smart moves. Color is a fabulous prospect for reining, reined cow horse, ranch riding, roping, in short all of the Western performance events, as well as the looks to get you noticed!

When Color shed out his baby bay coat, he changed into a Bay Roan Tobiano. He now looks much like his dam, Zipper. In different light, he sometimes looks blue roan or red roan, but he is Bay Roan, officially on his papers
